Bachelor's degree in Social Work at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences
Master's degree in Gender and Queer Studies at the University of Cologne

During her bachelor's degree, she focussed on political education work, in particular on combining theoretical perspectives with practical methods. She has been working as a social worker since 2020 and works with mentally ill adults. In this role, she actively promotes political participation and has, among other things, organised information events on the European elections in plain language.

Her main areas of interest include anti-discrimination work and raising awareness for the political participation of marginalised groups.

From mid-September to mid-December 2024, Lilly Kalina will be completing an internship at CIVIC Institute for International Civic Education.
